Obedience 2

Overview: Welcome to Obedience 2

In the weeks ahead, we’ll be focusing on building greater duration with basic behaviors and increasing your dog’s ability to perform around distractions. Obedience 2 is our opportunity to go deeper and build on everything we established in Obedience 1.

We’ll continue to refine your handling skills, with an emphasis on properly using training equipment and helping your dog stay focused in more challenging environments.

Whether you’re moving up from Obedience 1 or looking for a class to address lingering impulse control issues—despite previous training—this course is designed to meet you where you are and take your dog’s reliability to the next level.

Over the coming weeks we will cover key skill such as:

• Engagement around distraction
• Using your leash properly
• Creating stable behaviors
• Introduce training equipment
• Improve leash walking

Equipment needed: Leash or slip leash, Martingale collar (we don’t want any escapees), Treat pouch or clothing you can fill with treats, Large amounts of treats and food (yes bring both)
